3 Reasons Why Avana Is The Perfect Water Bottle

Twice a year I clear out the cabinet that houses all of my stainless steel, BPA free water bottles. It’s like my addiction to handbags. There can always be one more pocket, a trending color, or a lighter weight carryall. With water bottles the must-haves are a straw, temp control, and spill proof.

The Avana Beckridge is all of that and more. When I first discovered the company on Instagram I thought don’t do it. It’s going to be the same as all the others. I saved the post in my “buy” collection on Instagram so I knew it wasn’t goodbye forever as I continued to scroll passed it. Their most marketable selling point? “Sip or swig.” How is that possible? I can set a consumption mode preference? I couldn’t comprehend having one bottle that does both.

I had to find out for myself. When I received the bottle - I ordered off Amazon, you know, for instant gratification - I had a hard time deciding between copper and gunmetal but opted for gunmetal in the end. It was love at first sip (and swig). Here are three reasons why I think this bottle is an important investment at $40.

  1. Sip or Swig. I fill my Avana with a green smoothie in the morning and once that’s finished I fill it with water. The straw feature makes the smoothie experience enjoyable. Additionally, you can’t see the straw, so it may look weird as you inconspicuously sip but it doesn’t bother me.

  2. Temp Control. My green smoothie is half frozen by the time I get to work. I usually blend around 7:30am and sip around 9:45/10am.

  3. Avana Gives. Money from each purchased bottle helps support water projects in developing countries. Major plus.

  4. BONUS! Easy to clean. Ever try to clean your water bottle by painfully squeezing your hand through the top? Never again. This bottle unscrews into four parts. The top, the mouth piece, detachable straw, and the bottle. You can’t stick it in the dishwasher but hand cleaning it is very easy.
